Many, many thanks to Joel
Roberts and his family for manning our booth at the Ortega
Preservation Socity Fall Festival. This was a short notice event and
Joel was a huge success. We were very proud to have Joel and his
family represent the JHS. their efforts resulted in a nice donation
from the event sponsor.
I enjoyed seeing everyone at
the last meeting. We had an impressive turnout to see Rebecca Smith.
She gave a very enlightening and entertaining presentation about the
ecosystem near the Kennedy Space Center. This included, but was not
limited to, several herps such as the eastern indigo snake and gopher
tortoise. The comparisons of how it was with how it is now was very
eye-opening. Thank you, Rebecca Smith.
We are in the process of
renovating the library. Hopefully we will have it up and running
within the next few months. The storage problems have been worked out,
and we will be purchasing new, smaller cabinets to make transportation
of the library easier. We are very excited about sharing the extensive
resources that have been built over the years.
I would like to remind
everyone about Dr. Blaney coming next month and that our meeting will
be January 8th (the 2nd Wednesday). Please mark your calendar.
Please have a blessed and
safe holiday season. Please remember those who are less fortunate than
us. I hope Santa is good to everyone.
See you soon!
